Public Speaking programs

Starting in 2022, the English-Speaking Union (Victoria Branch) is sponsoring the Toastmasters District 73 Youth Leadership program, a practical public speaking program delivered by Toastmaster volunteers in school classrooms to build confidence in public speaking and to teach practical communication skills.

ESU’s sponsorship provides financial and in-kind support for the program. Our book prizes will recognise high performing and most improved students. We are delighted to support a program that encourages young people to express themselves confidently in the classroom and in their everyday lives.

Toastmasters District 73 services clubs in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

In 2019 the English-Speaking Union (Victoria Branch) partnered with the Home Education Network to provide a high quality public speaking course for home-educated students and all students of secondary school age, regardless of background. The course was delivered at our headquarters in the Melbourne suburb of Ascot Vale.

Restrictions on face-to-face gatherings prevented the offering of similar courses in 2020 and 2021.
