Congratulations to Dr Isabelle Burke

The ESU warmly congratulates Dr Isabelle Burke, winner of the 2022 Oldham Wedlick Scholarship for further study and appreciation of the English language.

Dr Burke is a Lecturer in Linguistics at Monash University. She is using the Scholarship to research the grammatical differences between Victorian rural and urban English speaker. She presented her preliminary findings at the La Trobe Forum on Englishes in Australia on 30 August 2024 (as shown in the above image).
