2025 Creative Writing Awards Winners Presentation

Please join us for the announcements of the winners of our 2025 Formal Verse Contest and Youth Writing Contest.

Formal Verse Contest: The winner ($5,000), Runner-up ($1,000) and Best Victorian entry ($1,000) will be announced by final judge Dr. Stephen McInerney. The ESU President, Robert Furlan, will announce his President's Choice award ($1,000) at the same event. The Reader's Choice Award ($1,000) will also be announced. Youth Writing Contest: The winning essay on the theme Where can we find the pioneering spirit that built Australia in today's world? ($2,000) will be announced by judge Margaret Connolly.

PRESENTATION DETAILS

Time and date: Saturday 28 February from 2:30 pm for a 3:00 pm start.

Venue: ESU House, 1 Bank St, Ascot Vale.

Several of the shortlisted and winning poets will read their own works during the ceremony.
