Festive BBQ and Picnic, to celebrate the end of the year
Our end-of-year function will be held on Saturday 10 December 2022 at Lincoln Square, Carlton (on the Swanston Street tram route), beginning at 12.00 -12.30.
ESU members and friends, including members of the British Australian Community, will be attending. Some are bringing children, for whom Santa's elves have prepared special gifts.
Lincoln Square offers the shade of venerable trees, public toilets, and a limited number of tables with seating. We will meet near the BBQs at the south (city) end of Lincoln Square, close to an excellent new playground that is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities.
ESU will host the BBQ (including for people with special dietary needs) and will provide dips & nibbles, meats, salads, bread, sauces, plus a range of drinks (including beer, sparkling wine and still wines, plus non-alcoholic options). We are also well stocked with plates, cutlery, napkins and plastic drinking glasses.
If you registered to attend, you do not need to bring anything, unless you wish to bring beverages and extra picnic foods to suit your own taste.
Picnic rugs and outdoor chair/s may be useful, if you find it convenient to bring these.
Local car-parking is metered.
WET WEATHER PLAN: If the event has to be cancelled due to inclement weather, the ESU will phone you on the morning of 10 December. This is why we asked for your phone number in the registration form.
NB: Bookings closed on Wednesday 7 December 2022.
