Congratulations to Dr David Martin Jones
The ESU warmly congratulated Dr David Martin Jones as winner of the inaugural (2021) Major Project Grant for research into ‘Sin, Crime and Hate Speech’. Born in Wales, he gained Australian citizenship and taught at the University of Tasmania and the University of Queensland. In 2017 he became a Visiting Professor at King’s College, University of London.
The Grant supported research that resulted in three publications and two public lectures.

Sadly, Dr Jones died suddenly at the age of 73 on 16 April 2024. The ESU extends its condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
