Friday Night Forum: Meeting Mathilde

Please join us for our September Friday Night Forum. The topic is "Meeting Mathilde: The Magazine Reclaiming Women, Culture & History".

Mathilde is a Melbourne-based biannual high-quality, hard-copy magazine about women, culture & history.

With its tagline 'holding fast to what is good', it was launched in 2021 in response to the growing trends of 'cancel culture'. It aims to explore and uphold the legacies of the western tradition.

Mathilde is not affiliated with any one religious tradition, nor is it constrained by any political script. It facilitates free inquiry into the cultural zeitgeist, seeking common ground between different groups and belief systems, believing this is the most effective way to nurture growth and restore appreciation for the heritage of past cultures and traditions.

Finally, Mathilde upholds 'reclaimed feminism' which seeks to make visible, and to valorize, womanhood in all its female experiences, and not just those which serve economic ends and modern narratives.

The ESU is pleased to sponsor this magazine. Learn more at: https://www.mathildemagazine.com

Founding Editor Veronika Winkels will speak about her personal reasons for founding Mathilde, its topics of focus, media presence, growth and impact and its appreciation for ESU's ongoing support for its mission. Q & A will be available.
